Integration Toolkit - Productive Psychedelic Integration Therapy Conversations
Your toolkit for productive conversations between mental health providers and psychedelic integration therapy seekers.
As a therapist working and consulting in the psychedelic integration therapy space, I've noticed two major issues:
- Clients/seekers are not sure how to find or have conversations with therapists to leverage their psychedelic experiences with therapy.
- There aren't enough therapists to meet the demand and many lack the tools or insights to be truly helpful.
And it turns out, the research agrees:
From a harm-reduction approach, I created this toolkit to help bridge that gap and address the two issues I've noticed consulting with clients and therapists.
Primarily designed to facilitate productive conversations between therapist and psychedelic integration therapy seeker, there are a few additional ways this toolkit can help:
- give seekers a toolkit to support reflection and optimize the integration process,
- provide resources for seekers to find therapists appropriate to their goals,
- support therapists with information on where to learn more and provide them with resources if clients show up with the toolkit asking for help.
Existing psychedelic therapy research shows profound mental health outcomes... and they all use protocols with 3-5 times more therapy sessions than sessions administering a drug.
To achieve similar outcomes as being touted by research, therapy is essential.
This toolkit is designed to support mental health outcomes from a harm-reduction lens.
Before you decide if this is the right tool for you, let me share a few assumptions I make…
- Many therapists have not yet discovered the promising research outcomes of psychedelic therapy
- Many others have learned of the benefits but are not yet trained or comfortable having conversations with clients about these topics
- Many of those therapists are highly skilled and capable of supporting clients with challenging life issues
- Those skills can translate to psychedelic integration work, and many just don’t know that yet
- You are allowed to initiate the conversation, and this toolkit can help build that therapeutic relationship!
If you disagree with any of those assumptions then this toolkit may not be right for you. But if you agree, I hope you (and your therapist) benefit from this work!
